Text Box: MINUTES OF THE LINCOLN COUNTY HORSEMAN’S ASSOCIATION MEETING HELD 01/03/08 Meeting called to order at 707pm by President Keith Gentry. Minutes from the Dec. 6 meeting read by Buzz. Motion made to accept the minutes as read, seconded, passed. Treasurer’s reports for Dec. and Jan. were submitted by Dena. Our current balance for the start of the New Year is $1,138.41. Motion was made to accept the report as read, seconded, passed. OLD BUSINESS Keith solicited ideas of what to do about the Associations Web Site. The site had been previously maintained by Bob, who also maintains the site for the shooters. The shooters are very happy with how their site looks, however the site for the horseman’s association is inactive. Benefits of what the web site would do for the association and its members as well as the community were discussed. Chris Bussler volunteered to take responsibility for maintaining the site if Bob or Charles would grant her access. The Web site will be used to provide a calendar of upcoming events, contact information, work days and so forth. Discussion led in to getting more members involved with club functions rather than the same handful of people doing all of the work. Members present decided to think of ways to motivate other club members and present ideas and the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS A Trail Ride will be scheduled for the last weekend in February. Several locations were discussed. Availability were be checked and presented at the next meeting to finalize date, time and location. The combination will be changed after the February meeting to allow past members to renew their memberships. To get the new combination, see Buzz for a application form, fill it out and present it to Dena with payment. Charles Edmonds donated a heat pump (central unit) to the association. Discussion followed about where to install it, in the club house or in the concession stand. Both locations will be evaluated before the next meeting before a decision is made. Buzz suggested sending out a News Letter consisting of the minutes of the January meeting to let all of last years members know about membership dues and grounds combination lock being changed. Every one agreed. Motion to adjourn at 800pm, seconded.
